History

The Desert Inn needed to be demolished to build the casino hotel. The golf course has been kept but has been modernised and renamed Wynn Golf Club. In addition, private land in the Paradise Avenue area was purchased, which was accompanied by litigation over the objection of some homeowners to the sale.

The development was designed and built by Marnell Corrao Associate. The interior design was conceived by Roger Thomas and the principal architect was John Gergely.

The grand opening ceremony was held at the end of April 2005 to coincide with other important dates: the fifth anniversary of the purchase of the land and the birthday of Steve Wynne’s wife.
